PACHYCEPHALOSAURUS
The main characteristic of the pachycephalosaur is the dome-shaped cap topped by bony protuberances. The pachycephalosaur is the largest dinosaur ever found of the Ornithischian family. This biped, which lived in North America in the Upper Cretaceous, could reach a length of 4-5 m and a weight of 450 kg. Its round skull, tending upwards, was 20-25 cm thick. According to scientists, it used its skull to charge or intimidate its enemies. Pachycephalosaur roughly means thick-skulled lizard. Based on the shape of their teeth, pachycephalosaurs fed mainly on leaves, seeds and fruit. All Schleich figures, modeled down to the smallest detail and hand painted, guarantee play moments of high pedagogical value.
